Abstract

The development of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has significantly advanced capabilities in high-risk rescue and military operations. This paper presents the design and implementation of a smart Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) drone, equipped with a FlySky Transmitter and Pixhawk Controller to support both manual and autonomous flight. The system incorporates advanced navigation and control algorithms for stable performance in dynamic, complex terrains. The FlySky Transmitter ensures reliable communication, while the Pixhawk Controller handles flight stabilization, sensor integration, and mission automation. Key features include obstacle detection, real-time video streaming, and emergency response protocols. Extensive flight testing demonstrates the drone’s reliability and adaptability in critical scenarios such as search and rescue and military surveillance. The study highlights the platform’s potential for future integration with AI technologies and discusses both the technical and ethical considerations for deploying smart UAVs in high-risk environments.
